About the Position
The Plumbing Engineer (PE) will be responsible for the design and implementation of plumbing systems, including water supply, sanitary, storm drainage, and medical gas systems. You will work alongside architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and BIM specialists to create high-quality, code-compliant designs tailored to each project’s needs.
Responsibilities include…
Plumbing System Design: Design and develop plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary drainage, stormwater, gas distribution, and specialty systems (e.g., medical gas, compressed air).
Project Collaboration: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including BIM modelers and engineers, to integrate plumbing systems into building designs.
Code Compliance: Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards, such as IPC, UPC, ASPE, NFPA, and local jurisdictional requirements.
Sustainability & Efficiency: Incorporate sustainable design principles, water conservation strategies, and energy-efficient solutions into plumbing system designs.
Quality Assurance: Perform technical reviews, conduct QA/QC checks, and provide mentorship to junior engineers and BIM modelers.
Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, present design concepts, and provide technical support during construction.
BIM Integration: Work closely with BIM teams to produce accurate, clash-free 3D models and ensure seamless coordination with other building systems.
Business Development Augmentation: Support Business Development efforts through various activities including representing Pinnacle at industry events, client site visits, participating in media content, networking with target clients within your discipline.
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one US state.
Proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
Experience researching and applying U.S. plumbing codes (IPC, UPC), ASPE standards, and water conservation guidelines.
Experience with data centers, hospitals, or other complex facilities is a plus.
$150K - $190K / annum
